I think it’s about time educational institutions make ‘social and corporate etiquette’ a compulsory subject for students to learn especially, those about to start their internships. Because in this our ‘I know my right generation’, a lot of youth lacks it.
Some youth do think to have good social manners makes you come across as weak, timid and lack of self-confidence; meanwhile, the confidence they portray isn’t confidence but arrogance and disrespect. Sadly, they take these bad behaviours and manners to the workplace, swearing here and there with no respect or regard to colleagues and managers.
Helping student to focus on good grades to graduate with excellent qualifications are all important but, let’s not forget that these qualifications only help put them in a job but doesn’t keep them there. For them to successfully grow and keep their jobs, they need to have certain social etiquette. Do you agree?
